Marijuana Business 1I have no idea why Marijuana is still illegal. During prohibition era alcohol had the same “forbidden fruit” effect and as a result the government had to make it legal. They are now able to tax the manufacturers and distributors heavily and alcohol industry has become a major part of the economy. The business of marijuana would do the same for the economy if the government officials could pull their heads out of sand and think straight for once.

Before I share some of my reasons which will echo yours, I would like to share a personal story. When I was going to college I smoked marijuana. My GPA was always over 3.5 and my name was proudly mentioned on the wall of College of Business under “Dean’s List.” I smoked, I played Halo with my buddies and there were times I ended up staying up all night to finish Need For Speed. The whole idea of marijuana rots your brain is crap cause if it was, I wouldn’t have made it through college. Anyway, here are five reasons I think the sale of marijuana should be made legal and we should be given the option to choose whether or not we want to smoke some.

Home Based Business Ideas

When I started my own home business, I tried to think in terms of what was going to be around years down the road. I knew that starting a business that was not in high demand was definitely not what I wanted to do. Looking back at all of the people who have started businesses and failed, I was a bit discouraged, but I went with my gut and decided that I was going to be successful with one of the following:

Big-ass mega businesses are *starting* to realize that social media should be an integral part of their marketing strategy.

Anyway, I was trying to find a few companies’ twitter accounts the other day . . . and I had a pretty hard time (there are LOTS of fake accounts).

So I decided to compile a list of 25 companies and where to find them on different social media platforms.

There are TONS of fake accounts (by people impersonating businesses), but I have made sure the accounts listed for these businesses are official ones (besides Flickr which are mostly “group pools”).

I will be updating this list as days go by, but for now here are the 25 businesses that utilize social media and the platforms you can find them on. (If you have a suggestion for my list, please leave it in the comments section).

Sometimes big businesses make some of the stupidest business decisions ever. Remember the Microsoft iLoo? Although many have ruled that it was a hoax and an April Fool’s day prank by Microsoft, the fact that the press release came out on the 30th day of April sure does raise a red flag. That was a disaster for Microsoft in terms of business idea and decision itself. However, Microsoft is not alone in this group. We have compiled 10 American Businesses that made some of the stupidest decisions ever. Kick back, relax and get ready for a chuckle while we share with you some of the dumbest moments of these American businesses.

We are fascinated by celebrities. Some go as far as developing an obsession for them. What they wore the night before, who they were seen kissing last week and who they will be dating next month have become a common conversation starter among people. All in all, celebrities have taken a central roles in our lives. Either as a role model or as conversation starter, we are constantly surrounded by celebrity news. However, at times we tend to forget that these celebrities are not just diving and keeping themselves within the realm of entertainment industry. They are venturing out into the business world, trying to unleash their business ideas so they could make a name for themselves in the world of business, not just entertainment.

If you are reading this post, you are probably one of us – the idea generators. You know, the kind who always has fifty different things running in their head? Last night while I was browsing the web trying to inspire some more ideas in me, I quick sketched something that looked pretty cool, well, it did to me. I like to call it the “7 Key Elements of an Idea,” why? First, cause I think these 7 elements are crucial to turn an idea into reality and second, cause it sounds cool. Anyway, unlike many other blogs I am not going to try and elaborate on these 7 elements cause I don’t think there is any reason to. A five year old can read and understand what it means. The key here is to organize your ideas and take them through this process in order to make your ideas a reality. Anyways here are the seven steps I think are crucial for your ideas to make it into the real world :

It’s amazing how some people can make the craziest idea come to life and turn it into a successful venture. When it comes to starting ones own business, it seems like most people choose the restaurant model. I am not sure exactly why many people are so drawn towards the restaurant business, but it sure is a popular one among people with ideas. We will be featuring some crazy, inspirational and WTF? business ideas in coming weeks. As you can tell from the title, we are going to kick it off with some crazy restaurants. Some of you may already know about these and some may have been there, but if you haven’t, be ready to hold your jaw to make sure it doesn’t hit the floor.

Business ideas are one of those things that you can’t really tell whether or not it will succeed until you try it. But then, there are some ideas that you know for a fact it’s not going to work out. Still some people pursue their dreams just to get crushed when their end consumers scream : WTF were you thinking?
